Mar Vista
MarVista High School is an alternative high school that facilitates three distinct programs:
- PEP (Portable Education Program) is a school-based home program. Students meet with their teacher once a week to receive their assignments, discuss their work, and get assistance where needed. Students most successful with this program are those who are independent, organized, are older, or have parental support.
- NovaNet is a computer-based curriculum. Students attend school four days a week for two hours a day to use the computer instruction. A teacher is available for assistance and direction. Students must also complete some assignments at home. Those who are most successful with this program are those who find it easier to focus their attention in a small group with individual assignments.
- Day Program has a research-based curriculum and is project oriented. It is designed each year depending on the needs of the students. Students attend school four days a week for 4-1/2 hours. This program is most suited for those students who work best in small groups with a small student to teacher ratio.
