School Motto (adopted 2/14/07)
In the fall of 2004, Blue Heron Middle School began using a new school motto.
The 4A’s for Success has come to be part of our school culture. Our school goals
are organized around this motto and students are recognized for their achievements
in the areas of academics, attendance, attitude and activities. Our school motto is:

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF BLUE HERON MIDDLE SCHOOL
Academic Goal(adopted 2/14/07)
Blue Heron Middle School will offer a rigorous, integrated curriculum which includes language arts, social studies, math, science, health and fitness, and visual/performing arts, and which provides all students opportunities to learn.
Academic Objectives (adopted 2/14/07)
- We will teach all students to read with comprehension, write with skill and communicate effectively.
- We will teach all students to know and apply core concepts of math, science, the arts (music, literature and visual), health and fitness.
- We will teach all students to think analytically, logically and creatively, using experience and knowledge to make reasoned judgments and solve problems.
- We will teach all students to understand the importance of work, and how performance, effort and decisions affect future opportunities.
- We will provide programs and utilize a range of strategies and resources that address the academic needs of diverse learners.

Blue Heron Middle School will be a safe place where students behave with kindness, responsibility and respect.
