Personnel Procedure 5201P: Drug-Free Schools, Community and Workplace

On or before September 10th of each school year the District will publish a statement notifying all employees of the District’s good faith effort to maintain Port Townsend School District as a Drug-Free Workplace. This statement will inform employees that:

1. The District will work with employees to find appropriate drug counseling and/or treatment;
2. The District Office must be informed of any criminal drug statute conviction for a violation occurring in the work-place no later that five days after such conviction; and
3. Appropriate discipline against violators, including termination, will be taken by the District.

All new employees and any current employee who will be engaged in performance of any federal grant activity must comply with and receive a copy of this policy.
