Kindergarten Registration

Port Townsend Schools' Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2008-2009 school year at Grant Street School.  We encourage you to register as soon as possible. Please contact Grant Street School if you have any questions regarding kindergarten (360-379-4535).

Grant Street School will offer all-day and half-day kindergarten again next fall.  Tuition for the second-half of all-day kindergarten is $200 per month (subject to revision by the school board this spring). Lower tuition is available for families based on a sliding scale.  A non-refundable $25 deposit is required at the time of application to reserve a placement in all-day kindergarten.  School district policy on student placement will be used to determine classroom assignments.

According to state law, kindergarten students must have had their fifth birthday by August 31 of the entry year.  Parents with children whose fifth birthday falls after August 31 but before September 30 may apply for early entrance.  Proof of age (a valid birth certificate) and proof of immunization must be shown to be admitted to school.

State law requires that prior to attending school, either public or private, every child must show proof of either 1) full immunization, 2) the initiation of a schedule of immunization, or 3) a certificate of exemption as provided for in RCW 28A.210.090.
