PRINCIPALS' PAGE Carrie Ehrhardt, Principal Patrick Kane, Assistant Principal Hello, and welcome to Port Townsend High School. As the administrators of PTHS, we are pleased to introduce our school to you. We are a 2A school located on the east side of the Olympic Peninsula, in Washington State. Additionally, we are a member of the Northwest Association of School and of Colleges and Universities. As an accredited high school, we are recognized for promoting and maintaining a well-balanced education program and for meeting or exceeding standards considered essential for quality education. Our high school is comprised of approximately 560 students throughout the school day. As a school we pride ourselves in providing a wide array of programs, both educationally and extra-curricular, despite our small size. Academically, we have a graduation rate of 93% and over 50% of our graduates go on to institutions of higher education. Educationally, we offer many advanced placement and honors classes throughout our core academic departments (math, social studies, English and science) and have a variety of elective choices. We maintain a strong vocational program and many of our classes are cross-credited with tech prep college credit from our local Peninsula Community College. We have an outstanding visual and performing arts program. Beyond the school day, over 90% of our student body is involved in a school-sponsored extra curricular activity. We are 2004 state champions in Baseball and Knowledge Bowl. We have an active student body that participates in many school and community based projects (recycling, food drive, blood drive, community service activities, etc.) The administration and staff at PTHS continually strives to make the school a positive and safe place to be. We welcome your contact with questions or feedback about our school and its programs.
