Our School and Community

Port Townsend, the county seat of Jefferson County, is located on the northeast tip of the beautiful Olympic Peninsula.  The community has a population of approximately 8,000 with major employers being government (hospital, schools, city, county), marine trades and tourism.

Port Townsend High School is one of the oldest in Washington State, graduating its first class in 1891.  Port Townsend High School is a comprehensive public high school, serving approximately 620 students in grades 9 - 12, and is fully approved and accredited by the State of Washington and the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
