Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. 2011

Washington, D.C. – Members of the Student Task Force from Port Townsend High School joined 2,800 substance abuse prevention and treatment leaders from across the country at Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America's (CADCA) 21st annual National Leadership Forum. This one-of-a-kind conference was held just outside of Washington, D.C. Feb. 7-10. During the four days, community leaders representing community coalitions from around the world connected with their peers and learned new community problem-solving skills.

Fall Prevention Summit

Members of the Port Townsend Student Taskforce on reducing underage drinking and drug use attended the 2010iPrevention Summit in Yakima, WA Oct 14-16, 2010. The PTHS students participated in a service learning project, education workshops, networking activities, with 200 adults and 300 students from across Washington. Convened since 1980, the conference focuses on effective strategies to prevent drug use, violence and destructive behaviors as well as networking with others working in drug prevention education: students, teachers, prevention specialist, law enforcement, policy makers, and scientists.
