UNITE

UNITE is a program that began at PTHS in the spring of 2006. The UNITE campaign is a movement to increase Understanding, Acceptance, Appreciation, Tolerance and Respect among students and staff. UNITE is not a club, there are no meetings. It is something that we hope will make all of us better people and our school and community a better place. Below is the UNITE statement. Those who embrace this concept are given a UNITE button to wear proudly around our campus and community:

UNITE is a concept. A philosophy. It is a belief that all students are equal and should be treated equally regardless of race, national origin, position on religion, political persuasion, gender or sexual orientation. To UNITE is to believe that all students have the right to be respected, to be free from bullying and harassment, and to choose a lifestyle that does not embrace alcohol, drug and tobacco use, misuse and abuse. To UNITE is to demonstrate through actions and words that every student should have the right to pursue their goals in a safe and tolerant school community, where students can choose to be who they want to be as academics, artists and athletes. To UNITE is to be a good citizen and friend to all.
