PT comments: Before the game, Tessa Kush asked coach Holly Rohrbacher how to do a float serve. Tessa served 10 floaters for aces, 16 made serves and no errors. That's an example of an excellent learner. A very nice balanced attack by PT featured five players with 5-7 kills each.
Thirteen players got into the game for PT and all of them contributed to the victory.
Seventeen girls played in the JV match for PT and all of them got in on the 3-0 victory.
Port Townsend HS Volleyball defeats Cascade Christian 3-0 in a Nisqually League match at PT on 10-26-05.
Game scores were 25-22, 25-18, 25-22.

Tessa Kush with 13 hard kills played a dominate match for PT. The setters, sophomores Jessie Holbrook and Brita Guthrie, did a great job getting the ball to the hitters. Serving and passing was strong for PT. Erica Amico was the passing leader with 13 perfect passes. The C team and JVs also played well and swept their matches.
Foster HS defeats Port Townsend HS 3-0 in Nisqually League volleyball on October 24, 2005 at Foster.
Scores 26-24, 25-22, 25-12.

The first two games were extremely close, with the first tied at 24-24 and the second at 22-22. Foster was able to win both of the close ones. In the second game, PT overcame a large deficit and almost pulled out the win. Highlights for PT was the offense from the outside hitters, the defense of freshman libero Luna Amico and consistent serving by the whole team. PT swept both the C and JV matches.
PTHS defeats Steilacoom 3-0 in Nisqually League Volleyball, 10-19-05 at Steilacoom.
Scores 29-27, 25-15, 25-21.

This was an important match for PT. PT needed to win to set up a bigger match at Foster on Monday. PT and Foster are currently tied for 2nd in Nisqually League 2A VB standings. The top two teams draw a bye for the first round of the district playoffs. Vashon is currently in first place.

Amy Atkinson had an outstanding game at outside hitter and also played a strong game defensively. Erica Amico dominated the middle in the front row and Liane Norcutt dominated the middle back position. Freshman Luna Amico played almost every minute in the libero position and had a very good match. All of the PTHS blockers had strong games. The PT JV and C teams were also victorious against Eatonville.

"Monday's game against North Mason was played very good by PT. North Mason has had great success this season with a freshman dominated lineup. PT hit hard, dug many hard shots and blocked well to keep the Bulldogs from doing much.
On Wednesday against Chimacum, PT served tough and played hard all match. Chimacum has some fine young athletes and they played a good match. PT used good shot selection and well placed defense to keep the Cowboys from a match win. Tessa Kush and Erica Amico played very good games. All of the Port Townsend roster saw action in this one and everyone contributed to the victory. PT JV won their matches against both North Mason and Chimacum."
In Nisqually League volleyball, Port Townsend defeated North Mason 3-1 at Port Townsend on Monday, 10-10-05.
