PT and Kingston battled back and forth for 6 innings until Kingston ran away with the game in the 7th inning with 7 runs.  final score was 16-7.  Both teams were strong defensively and it came down to hits.  Kingston out gunned the lady Redskins 18 hits to 9 hits.  This game ends the Redskins season.

PTHS vs Bremerton - Monday, April 21

The Lady Redskins defeated  the Lady Knights 11-0 in 5 innings of play.  PT came out swinging with 4 hits and 5 runs in the first inning and there was no looking back.  Jordyn Holbrook was the winning pitcher (2-5 - league).  She pitched only 47 pitches in her four innings and had 2 strike outs and 2 walks.  Teslin LeMaster came in as relief pitcher in the fifth and threw just 3 pitches to retire the side.  The Lady Redskins with only one error had nearly flawless defense.  The game ending play was an unassisted double play by first baseman, Ashley Sly.

A tough loss for the Lady Redskins.  PA was a hard hitting team opening up the game with a homer by their first batter, Miranda Pitz.  Sonia Eloeson pitched a near-perfect game allowing only one runner due to an error in her infield.  Janessa Lindsey (11)  made a truly amazing diving catch in Right Center field in the fourth inning helping her team avoid further injury.  Teslin Lemaster (9) made her debut as a relief pitcher, facing 6 batters in the last inning.  The Lady Redskins remained focused throught the game.  Jesse Holbrook picked off a runner from first base with a perfect throw from home plate.  PT meets Kingston Monday April 14.

 

PTHS vs Bremerton - Friday, March 21

The Lady Redskins had another display of solid defense against Bremerton in their game March 21, 2008.  With only 2 errors PTHS held Bremerton to 4 runs.  The Lady Redskins bats were also hot during this contest.  The first runs were racked up with a grand slam Jesse Holbrook (3-5) homerun over the left fielder's head.  Jesse followed this up with another grand slam homerun in the 3rd inning.  Other hitters included freshman Teslin LeMaster (2-2), Chloe Dubois (2-2) and Jordyn Holbrook (2-4).  the final score was 17-4.  PTHS next meets Peninsula at home March 24.

PTHS VS Quilcene - Thursday, March 13

Port Townsend's Fastpitch Lady Redskins racked up 14 hits in their pre-season win over Quilcene, 13-12.

The Quilcene Rangers took an early first inning lead of 6-0.  The Redskins then dug in with nearly flawless defense the remaining innings.  Jesse Holbrook's (2/3) over the fence homerun started the hitting frenzy in the third inning.  Hits followed by Angela Sommantico (1/3), Janessa Lindsey (3/4), Ashley Sly (3/4), Holly Newton (3/4) and newcomer Alyx Coppenrath (3/3).  Jordyn Holbrook's debut performance as a pitcher was steady and strong throughout the game.  The Redskins hope to take this momentum into their first regulation game against North Mason at 4 PM, home on Wednesday, March 19.
