The Voice of Redskin Basketball is Cody Anderson!

The first person who told me to try out announcing was former PTHS Assistant Principal, Tom Kent. I was very nervous on my first night against Klahowya, but once the game got started, I exploded with energy and I've always been the same since. The number one thing that gets me fired up during games is the energy of the crowd. The more people who show up, the better I do. I owe it all to the fans and the players for this achievement. When I'm announcing out there, all I'm thinking about is having fun and making sure everybody else is having a good time as well, even if the opposing team isn't. Have I received harsh criticism? Yes, but that hasn't changed me nor will it ever change me. I am proud of my nickname, "The Voice of the Redskins". It gives me a sense of recognition and influences me to do even better.

Aside from announcing, I'm usually a laid-back kind of guy which is very surprising when you think of my explosive and spontaneous style of announcing. Sometimes I feel misunderstood. I've been known as a quiet guy who doesn't have much to say, when in fact, I have a lot to say. I just don't say it all the time. I'm still a nice guy to all and I'm always interested in meeting new people. I have played basketball and football throughout my high school career and I'm a good singer, so I have been involved in musicals. I have a humorous side that my friends like about me. In my free time, I like to go hiking with my dad. I've been to the Seven Lakes Basin with him. I also like to play some video games. I like rock music of all kinds. I like to weight lift and spend time with my best friends, like Jackson Milton. I am the oldest of three - brothers are Sean, Chad and Clayton, and I mess with all of them. My parents are Alan and Laura Anderson - and they have raised me well.

This is my last year announcing for the Port Townsend Redskins and it might not be the same after this. I am very thankful for all the support I got and I will never forget this moment. My only request for every Redskin fan out there, and for all future Redskin fans for generations to come, is this. I want you to go nuts! Be loud and keep the Redskin Spirit surging for each and every game!!

Go Redskins!
