Math Overview

The approach is developmental and differentiated, guided by the State Grade Level Expectations (GLEs). Five strands of mathematics are explored:

• Number Sense
• Geometric Sense
• Algebraic Sense
• Measurement
• Data and Probability

Four mathematics process skills are also integrated:

• Problem Solving
• Reasoning
• Communication
• Making Connections

Math Homework Information

Port Townsend School District belongs to the Science Education Alliance, which coordinates through the local ESD, to provide curriculum developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science. The Full Option Science System (FOSS) consists of modules in the four strands of science:

• Life Science
• Earth Science
• Physical Science
• Technology
